Platysmoplasty

An elegant neck contour is associated with a youthful appearance, health, and vitality.

About the service

A neck lift, also known as platysmaplasty, provides a smoother and firmer appearance to the skin under the chin and neck that has lost elasticity.

An elegant neck contour is associated with a youthful appearance, health, and vitality.

A neck lift, or platysmaplasty, is a procedure in which excess skin is removed from the neck area and the remaining skin is repositioned and tightened. The desired effect of this operation is to reduce wrinkles and sagging skin, as well as to give the neck a more youthful appearance with a sharper angle under the chin.

Platysmaplasty can be performed without any other plastic surgery procedure performed on the face, although it is often performed in conjunction with other procedures such as a facelift or liposuction. Factors that can affect the appearance of your neck over time include aging, heredity, and weight loss.

To perform platysmaplasty, small incisions are made around the ears and/or below the chin. The skin around the neck is then tightened and repositioned, and excess skin is removed. This procedure usually takes about 2-3 hours.

Do I need plasmaplasty?
  • Signs of aging bother you
  • You have lost a lot of weight and have excess skin around the face and neck
  • You have what appears to be a “double chin”
  • Loose skin hangs from the neck, causing the appearance of a “turkey neck”
