Otoplasty

Otoplasty is a plastic surgery performed by professional surgeons with extensive experience.

About the service

In principle, otoplasty is divided into two types:

  • The first type is an operation for aesthetic reasons, when it is possible to remove congenital defects (for example, to get rid of a lop-sided ear);
  • The second type is a reconstructive surgery, i.e., acquired deformities are corrected during the operation (for example, correcting the shape of the ear after an injury).
Contraindications for otoplasty:
  • The patient has an oncological disease;
  • Elevated blood sugar levels;
  • Problems with blood clotting;
  • Exacerbation of chronic diseases;
  • The presence of inflammatory diseases of the thyroid gland and jaw.

Who performs the procedure

Oleksiy Ivanovych Droga

Otoplasty can be performed both under local anesthesia and general anesthesia - the patient chooses. Most often, general anesthesia is used when performing surgery on young children to make the procedure safer and more comfortable for them. Local anesthesia is used for adolescents and adults. The operation lasts from 1 hour to 2 hours.

It is very important that there are no deformities or other traces of the operation. Because it is not difficult to press the ear, but the difficulty is to give it the correct anatomical shape. This operation can be performed even for children. Otoplasty is required for those who want to correct the asymmetry of the auricles, prominent ears, who want to change the shape of the auricle or earlobe.

Radchenko Oleg Igorevich

Otoplasty is the most common surgery among children and adolescents, as lop-earedness or deformities of the auricle can cause complexes in a child. To avoid such problems, parents should consult a surgeon as soon as possible for correction. Only after visiting a surgeon and undergoing a preoperative examination, all risks and contraindications can be excluded. Thanks to this, it will be possible to perform ear correction surgery without complications, and the recovery period will be significantly reduced.

How the procedure is performed

Only the highest standards of beauty and health

01
At the preoperative consultation, the surgeon will listen carefully to your problems and then suggest ways to solve them. If a child under the age of 18 needs to undergo surgery, the consultation must be held only in the presence of parents. At the end of the consultation, the plastic surgeon will prescribe an examination, which you can undergo in any laboratory convenient for you.
02
The date of surgery can be scheduled together with the plastic surgeon during the first consultation. Most often, otoplasty of the ears is performed on an outpatient basis, so you can go home on the day of the operation. After the operation, a special bandage will be applied to the patient to protect against infection and damage.
03
The plastic surgeon will give you recommendations for the recovery period immediately after the operation.
