Facelift 2/3 of the face

A facelift procedure, also known as a rhytidectomy, can improve the contour of your lower jaw and soften lines from the nose to the corners of your mouth.

About the service

If you're thinking about having a rhytidectomy, the good news is that great strides have been made in modern facelift techniques. While early facelift surgeries only tightened the skin, modern facelifts remove excess skin, laxity (looseness) of the facial muscles, and excess fat often found in the lower face and neck. A facelift procedure, also known as a rhytidectomy, can improve the contour of your lower jaw and soften lines from the nose to the corners of your mouth.

The lift procedure targets certain faces to achieve rejuvenation goals. If a patient shows signs of aging in the following areas, then rhytidectomy may be the right procedure for them:

  • Drooping or sagging in the middle of the face, including around the cheeks, nose and mouth
  • Age wrinkles under the lower eyelids
  • Deep wrinkles that stretch from the nose to the corner of the mouth are often called “laugh lines”
  • The appearance of a double chin, despite maintaining a normal, healthy weight
  • Loss of muscle tone

How the procedure is performed

Only the highest standards of beauty and health

01
First, you need to make an appointment for a consultation with a doctor, where you will be examined and the type of surgery will be determined. The plastic surgeon will answer all your questions in detail.
02
If you are a smoker, follow your surgeon's instructions to stop smoking. Smoking cessation will aid your recovery and ensure proper healing. If you are taking aspirin, prescription blood thinners, or certain vitamins, your surgeon may instruct you to stop taking them for a while before and after your facelift.
03
Depending on your circumstances, a facelift can take two to six hours to complete. Once the surgery is complete, your surgeon will close the incision with sutures and apply a soft, bulky dressing. It is extremely important to follow your surgeon's instructions on how to care for and handle the dressing.
